Beginning Life:
Smith’s stepfather is a documentary filmmaker and as a result she traveled around the world with her family until she was fourteen, and shifted to Los Angeles, California to start her modeling career.

Career

She got her first break at the age of nineteen in the remake of Get Carter.She has performed in films, and TV movies like: 2ge+her, Christy: The Movie (2000), The Wedding Dress (2001), I Want To Marry Ryan Banks, The Survivors Club (2004), Lie with Me, (2005), The Last Kiss, Art School Confidential, One Way,(2006), Dragon Boys, Normal, Late Fragment (2007), Pathology, Trick 'r Treat, Anatomy of Hope and Helen (2008).

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

Smith has recently joined the hit CBS police drama show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In this show she plays the role of Riley Adams, to fill in the place left by Sara Sidle in the previous season. Riley was formerly with the St. Louis police force. Adam’s father is a psychiatrist and she a non – conformist, who joins the police force in rebellion against her father.
