Life
Hall attended Tustin (CA) High School and graduated in English Literature from UCLA in 1971. A very talented guitarist and a former professional musician, Hall has been a high profile DJ in Los Angeles for many years besides doing a lot of voice over work for cartoons and television commercials. In 1978, his legs were amputated due to a major car accident, which had also resulted in over 65% burning of his body and he now uses prosthetic limbs for mobility. In many characters he plays, he exposes his disability, like he does in CSI and always speaks for the disabled and handicapped.
He is married to Judy Sterns since 1999 and has a son from his second wife, Connie Cole with he was married from 1979 up till their divorce in 1987. The son, Andrew was born in 1981. He was also married to Susan Petroni in 1969 but the couple divorced in 1974.

Although, best known for his work on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation since 2000, Hall has done notable works in films and TV as well.

The movies in which he worked include: The Negotiator (1998), Starship Troopers (1997), The Gene Generation (2006), The Roymann Closure (2007), The Eavesdropper (2004), Andersonville (1996), Dream Lover (1994), and Class Action (1991).
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

Hall is playing the character of Doctor Albert "Al" Robbins, who is the Chief Medical Examiner in the CSI team and also the head county coroner. Although the character was introduced as a recurring one through out the first two seasons, from season three onwards it took form of a full fledged main character. Al is a close friend of Dr. Gilbert Grissom and is married with three children. There are often such times when he is the only one who understands the team leader, Grissom and this is true for the reverse cases too. Doctor Al, in an accident while trying to dig up a floor at a crime scene, lost his legs and now has two prosthetic limbs.
