The ninth and the running season of the show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation started to air on 9th October, 2008 and with total 24 episodes it is expected to culminate on 14th May, 2009.
Raymond Langston (Laurence Fishburne) is now the lead character, who enters with guest role in episode 9 and 10 and subsequently takes the lead from 11th episode onwards. The other characters of his team are: Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger), Nick Stokes (George Eads), Greg Sanders (Eric Szmanda), Dr. Al Robbins (Robert David Hall), David Hodges (Wallace Langham), Riley Adams (Lauren Lee Smith) who joins in from the third episode onwards, and Jim Brass (Paul Guilfoyle).
Gil Grissom’s character played by William Petersen stays on only for ten episodes to leave the show as does Warrick Brown, a character which Gary Dourdan enacted in the first episode of the season.
We also see these people portraying recurring roles the whole of the ninth season: Archie Kao (Archie Johnson), Marc Vann (Conrad Ecklie), Jon Wellner (Henry Andrews), and Sheeri Rappaport (Mandy Webster).
