One of the most popular crime drama TV shows in America, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation was launched on 6th October, 2000 on CBS. The show is all about a forensics scientists’ team of Las Vegas and their probes as they get deep into strange and queer crimes and deaths. Anthony E. Zuiker created this show, while Jerry Bruckheimer is the producer. Currently the 9th season of the show is running since 9th October, 2008. The show is mostly canned at Universal City, at the Universal Studios, California.

Dr. Gill Grissom (William Petersen) is the supervisor of the graveyard shift of the Crime Scene Investigation for the initial eight and half seasons of the show. He is succeeded by Dr. Raymond Langston (Laurence Fishburne), halfway through the ninth season, who happens to be an ex doctor who has changed his profession, so as to avoid some demons from the past, which still haunt him.
CSI, over the years has achieved record ratings, even as some people criticize it, for not accurately showing the investigations conducted by the police. The show, which has crossed more than 200 episodes now, has had several nominations at a number of award functions and has even won nine of them. Also some related books, various video games and an exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry at Chicago, speak of the popularity the show enjoys, which lead to a couple of spin – off of the show, as well.
